It’s definitely real. There are quite a few of these videos floating around. It’s basically a whole genre of performance art. I’d love to see one in person sometime, as I don’t think the camera really does it justice.
I’d say that could be a mixture of different editing software like Adobe after effects. Its real, but not in the sense as if its actually projected onto the buildings. If you look closer, the shots are the same, a loop if you will. Pretty cool stuff though.

But it would only look this good if viewed directly inline with the projector otherwise you’ll get a parallax error.
